Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Copywriter

As the sole copywriter for a national cinema eatery with a devoutly loyal fan base and an irreverently reverent brand voice, you can imagine I stayed pretty busy at Alamo Drafthouse. Showpages, blogs, menus, emails, social posts, digital ads, in-theater assets, press releases, Don't Talk PSA scripts featuring talent like Jamie Lee Curtis: it's all on the menu. This was definitely a highlight of my career that I'll always remember fondly

2018 - 2021

The Automotive Advertising Agency

Creative Services Manager

The copy team was once again a department of one here for most of my tenure, meaning I had to be nimble to keep up with the demands of our automotive clients across the country. If this role taught me anything, it was how to wring creativity out of any message. Dealership advertising can be a dry gig if you let it, but I brought passion to every TV script, blog, digital ad, email, and video shoot I touched. I also worked closely with international brands like Honda, Toyota, and Ford to ensure our ads aligned with their brand standards while ensuring offer messaging across multiple brands in multiple states met every legal standard. 

2012 - 2018

OneVoice Communications

Copywriter

This was a fantastic place for me to truly dip my toes into the world of advertising. We were a small team that made a big impact for our clients, which ranged anywhere from auto dealerships to the YMCA to bowling alleys. I was the go-to (and only) copywriter, so I wrote plenty of TV scripts, radio scripts, blogs, print ads, and digital ads. Since we were such a small shop, I also pulled triple duty as the audio producer and director for video shoots.

Texas State University

Bachelor's Degree in Advertising

I entered Texas State unsure of where I wanted to go and left with the skills and passion to turn my gift for gab into a career. I dabbled in design (even earning a minor in it), but turns out I'm much more of a talker. I also achieved multiple semesters on the Dean's List, held a high GPA, and played my fair share of Racquetball.
